The Farsi words you see literally mean “Fellow Citizens Mr. and Mrs,” and it’s not easy to translate. I think in Iran being from the same town carries a lot of weight, so much that there is one word “hamshahri” for it. It means from one town. The translation doesn’t really roll off the tongue in English!
